DVD is actually the acronym for Digital Versatile Disc, although many people think Digital Video Disk when they see DVD on a package. The most common formats of DVD are DVD-5 and DVD-9. A DVD-5 disc has data on one side with a single layer of information up to 4.7 GB. A DVD-9 disc also has data on one side, but with dual layers it can hold up to 8.5 GB of data.
